Tigers Cubs: Cubs That Touched My Heart
Shot at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Central India in May 2010 with the Canon 1Ds Mark III, 1D Mark III and 500mm f/4
This was my first attempt to photograph Bengal tigers in India. It was extremely hot - as typical in May - and most of the tigers were hiding up the hills under the shade. We knew that the tigers normally come down to waterholes after it cooled down, so it was all about following park rules and patience. We were thrilled to see the Siddhababa tigress and her two 7 month old cubs come out for a daily lesson, after driving and searching for 7 days in 115 degree temps without any luck. Seeing tigers in the wild is night and day better than seeing these magnificant animals in a zoo or captive environment. It's breathtaking and there's so much more life in their eyes.
