See this heartfelt story about Kikilezi, a leopard mom who lost her 7 month old son to lions. She searched for four days and it brought tears to my eyes. But then, we were blessed with seeing her adorable female cub. I nicknamed her Keisha which means "alive and well".
July 2016 Update: Keisha is now officially known as the Emsagweni female (name after her Dad and her new territory) and she had her own litter of twins in March. Kikilezi, her mom and now 14 years old, had twins at the same time as well. Unfortunately, I missed seeing them. Note: leopards move about like kitties, and the infamous Kikilezi female sometimes meanders next door to the Londolozi private reserve to mate. Over there, she's called the Xidulu female.
