More Just Wild: Wildlife in Brazil
Shot in the Pantanal, Brazil in July 2009 with the Canon 1D Mark III and 500mm f/4
This was my first and only trip to South American in hopes of seeing wild jaquars in The Pantanal, Brazil. The accommodations and food were too rustic for me back in 2009 and it wasn't a great experience. The sightings were okay but not as prolific as photo tours nowadays. Although we did see a few jaquars on the river and heard them roaming camp (one naughty cat made a kill beneath the end tent), I much prefer African leopards for their more refined beauty, not to mention more opportunities to see cubs.
