Horses: Peruvian Pasos

Shot at a Peruvian Paso Breeding Ranch, New Mexico in May 2010 with the Canon 1D Mark III and 300 f/2.8

I wanted to photograph Peruvian Pasos because of their gorgeous manes. Not only were these horses gorgeous, smart and curious, they had very expressive eyes and inner spirits. You could feel them trying to connect with you. Watching the rhythm of their athletic bodies and unique gait was truly breathtaking.
